The florist belongs at IFTF
A special Florist Event will take place during the IFTF (November 2 to 4 in Expo Haarlemmermeer, Vijfhuizen). There, IFTF World of Flowers presents ‘the Flower Shop of the Future’. Fair organiser HPP works together with Green Team Consultancy+ and International Florist Organisation Florint to realize the event. IFTF already featured an event focused on the florist and the breadth of the product range last year, but the trade fair is stepping it up this year!
"Personality and individuality are our key words", says Michael Bourguignon ofFlorint. "Those aspects are vital for the Millennial: a consumer with money in his pocket and a deep love of beautiful things, but a wish list that does not rank flowers highly. Perhaps because florists have let elements like personality and storytelling fade to the background. Too often, florists emulated other florists’ success stories. For that exact reason: the Flower Shop of the Future!"
Distinctiveness and variation are what that Flower Shop is about. Renowned florists let the shop change face continuously, as each of them brings his or her own abilities and cultural baggage along. Attention will be paid to the vast product range as well: The Netherlands is still a country of flowers after all. Furthermore, there will be a bridal show (on Wednesday), lectures on themes such as sustainability, storytelling and digitization (on Thursday) and the spectacular kick-off of Florint’s annual Member’s Congress (on Friday).
IFTF expects to welcome about five hundred florists. That seems feasible, especially with Florint opening its annual Congress at IFTF. For both HPP, Green Team Consultancy+ and Florint, this is an important event. Fair organizer Dick van Raamsdonk says: "We gladly take up this new collaboration. We are a floriculture trade fair, after all, and the florist simply belongs there."
"A trade fair is, more than anything else, the place where partners in the chain talk to each other", comments Marcel Groen of Green Team Consultancy+. "From greenhouse to retail, the whole chain is represented. That includes, of course, the florist."
